Roundtable will be here soon.  Please let all your parents and leaders know ...

Roundtable falls on the actual 108th "birthday" of Scouting.  We will have a Birthday celebration as part of our Roundtable.  Please bring finger food (pot luck) to share.  If you are unable to bring anything, come anyway - there will be plenty.

 

Other topics:

                Scouting For Food - information will be given and ideas shared.  Come prepared to "mark the map" for the area which your unit will service.

                Scout-O-Rama - details about the upcoming Council Scout-O-Rama, which will be hosted here in the South Coast for the first time in a number of years.  Please have at least one or two leaders in attendance from each unit so they can hear and participate in what is being planned.

 

The District Pinewood Derby has been postponed (it will NOT take place Feb. 3rd).  Tentative date is March 24th.  Contact Jeff Seawards (jeff@seawards.us) or Jim Pyler (jim.pyler@scouting.org) for further information.

 

 

CUB SCOUT ROUNDTABLE - FEBRUARY 8th

We encourage all Cub Scout leaders and parents to join in the fun by learning and sharing your knowledge! 

When:  Thursday, February 8th - social 6:45, meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

Where:  The LDS church - 2107 Santa Barbara Street (parking in back of the building)

Roundtable is the best place to find out about upcoming events.  For example 

  • Training Tuesdays:  Check with the office for upcoming trainings
  • Feb 4th:  Scout Sunday
  • Feb 8th:  Roundtable and Merit Badge Thursday
  • Feb 10th:  Council Annual Recognition Dinner
  • Feb 20th:  Council Camp Card Sales Kick-Off
  • Mar 5th:  Merit Badge Counselor Training
  • Mar 8th:  Roundtable
  • Mar 17th:  Scouting for Food
  • Mar 24th:  District Pinewood Derby (?)
  • Apr 6th:  District Recognition Dinner
  • and many more events...

 

ROUNDTABLE

What is the purpose of ROUNDTABLE?

  1. To provide the skill to do - the skills, techniques, information, program ideas - the know-how that makes for successful unit operation.
  2. To provide unit leadership the will to do - the morale, enthusiasm, inspiration, and vision.

Who attends ROUNDTABLE?
All unit leadership attends ROUNDTABLE.

  1. Cubmasters, den leaders, Webelos leaders, Assistant Cubmasters, committee chairs, committee members, and parents.
  2. Scoutmasters, Assistant Scoutmasters, committee chairs, committee members, and parents.
  3. Varsity and Venturing leaders, committee members, officers, and parents.

What will YOU get out of ROUNDTABLE?

  1. Fellowship - a place to interact with other Scout leaders and parents
  2. Tips/Ideas for a better program
  3. Program materials
  4. Interactive instruction and training
  5. Answers to your questions
  6. Information on Council and District activities

Come out to the Santa Barbara LDS Church on the second Thursday of every month for information, fellowship, and fun!  See you there!
