A merit badge counselor is an important position in Scouting.  This session will cover several important factors that you should know in this position:

• Youth Protection - no "one on one" - specific issues applying to counselors
• Requirements for the position:  some merit badges require that you hold certain training certificates in order to be a counselor for that badge (examples are in aquatic and shooting sports area)
• Other merit badges require that you have job related or hobby level skills to be a counselor.
• Paperwork for both partial qualification and completion of a merit badge.
