Executive DirectorCouncil Executive Message

Scouts, Scouters, Friends, Families and Community Leaders,

A lot has changed for us in the past year. As a council the loss of Rancho Alegre has impacted our operations, program, and income. With Rancho Alegre closed we have been unable to host activities and lost all the income it provided to subsidize our Scouting programs. Since the fire we have been working diligently to restore the camp and rebuild the ranch. We have completed the demolition and master plan. We are still working on trying to collect from the insurance to rebuild. We are currently working on building and infrastructure design in efforts to start construction. We have also started the capital campaign to close the $6.5 million gap to complete the rebuild.

This year we have also started to include girls into our Cub Scout program. We are excited to serve the entire family unit and share our values with more youth. This is new to Scouting, but we have had young ladies in Scouting for many years through our Venturing and Exploring programs. We want to be supportive of our unit’s efforts. Please let us know how we can help.
