Council Executive Message

BSA Scouting

Los Padres Council Scout Families and Supporters,

I hope this finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. The safety of all our Scouts, families, volunteers, and staff are our top priority. Both physical and mental health are parts envisioned in the Scout Oath.

As we maneuver through these unprecedented times, we at Los Padres Council want to be a resource for you and your Scouts. I want to share with you that while all of us are living under the Statewide stay-at-home mandate for the safety of all of us, our Scouts can complete their work and advancements. We encourage you to utilize the resources to meet online for scheduled Packs, Troops, Board of Reviews, and Den meetings. Be creative and work on merit badges and assignments with your Scouts, parents, and volunteers. Think of unique and different ways Scouts can do a good turn, like write a letter or make art for an elderly neighbor; host an online-session for Senior Living Centers where a Scout can have a concert, do a skit, or read to the elderly to help them cope with our current state. This will keep your Scouts entertained while doing something good for others. There are several resources in this article to help you keep Scouting while at home. Also, follow us on our Facebook page @LPCBSA to see the latest information on everything program and some live streams of activities.
